Test Prep On-the-Go How to Enjoy the Summer While Prepping For the SAT or ACT

Stay On Track With Your Test Prep While Enjoying Your Time Off School’s out and summer is in! Now that you’re done with another school year, you have time for all the things you weren’t able to enjoy during the school year – whether that’s travel, research endeavors, or summer programs. You likely also have some extra time to dedicate to your test prep. By continuing your test prep into the summer you’ll be able to build up your foundational skills so that come the fall, once you’re juggling all of your obligations, you won’t have to worry about starting your SAT or ACT test prep from the ground up. Once you get back to school in the fall, you may not have as much time to dedicate to the ACT or SAT as you would in the summer. You may have back-to-school events to coordinate, teams to try out for, or even just your academics to focus on! That being said, you should definitely make studying for the ACT or SAT a priority now. Even if you don’t plan to be at home much this summer, there are many online options available that will not only allow you to take your tutoring and test prep on-the-go, but will also enhance your performance on the ACT/SAT as well. Khan AcademyIf you’re prepping for the SAT, consider signing up for a Khan Academy account! It’s free and the more you use it, the more it becomes customized to your needs, strengths, and weaknesses! There are tons of videos offering tips and strategies on specific content areas for all different difficulty levels. Say you’re struggling specifically with linear equations on the Math section – there’s a video for that! They also have full-length practice exams available. Since Khan Academy is partnered with the College Board, this is some of the most valuable SAT prep out there! ACT Online PrepLooking to get a similar experience as the Khan Academy, but for ACT? The ACT offers online prep for students studying for the exam. With a six-month subscription, students will have access to full-length practice exams, questions, games, and tools all produced by the makers of the ACT. However, unlike the Khan Academy, this service is not free and will cost you $39.95. Books With Online ContentPerhaps you work better with physical workbooks but want to test out online test prep while you’re away? If you pick up the premium edition of Cracking the SAT or ACT by the Princeton Review, you will have access to four additional online practice tests, score reports, video tutorials, and other test prep tools. Before you head off for your travels, go through the exercises and practice exams in the physical book first so that you can save the online content for later (and so you can save the space in your suitcase!) AppsDon’t have extra room in your suitcase for your laptop? If you’re taking the SAT, consider downloading the â€Å"Daily Practice for the New SAT† app, which is run by the College Board. For ACT, if you purchase the Online Prep program, it actually comes with an app so that you can continue your work on-the-go. These will be your best bets in terms of engaging with the most accurate and official content out there. Maybe you don’t necessarily want to begin taking a deep-dive into the ACT or SAT while you are traveling this summer. If you’d rather just stay fresh so that you don’t feel overwhelmed come the school year, there are many apps that can help you avoid summer brain drain during your time off. Magoosh, Duolingo, and Quizlet are a few that are effective and that our tutors love using with their own students! Online tutoringThink you need a more individualized approach to your test prep but need the flexibility to schedule around your summer plans? tutoring is the perfect option for you! Our expert tutors work with students one-on-one in order to help them excel at the SAT/ACT and they can do this remotely. Using an interactive platform called Zoom, you can work with one of our tutors no matter where you are or at what time. tutors have helped students achieve as much as a 17-point increase on the ACT and a 310-point increase on the SAT. Many students start working with us over the summer in order to get a head start on their test prep. This can help you sit for your exams earlier and thus wrap up your testing early. Don’t forget: while it’s important to stay on track with your test prep over the break, the summer is also supposed to be the season of fun and relaxation. Make sure you set aside some time for yourself so you can relax, recharge, and spend time with your family and friends. Summer test prep is important, but you also don’t want to overdo it and burn out before the school year has even begun. A little time off will set you up for success with both your test prep and the next school year!
